Dr Kanyalal (Ken) Aswani MBE

Dr Kanyalal (Ken) Aswani Ken has been a GP partner in large innovative teaching practice for over 25 years in Leytonstone, Waltham Forest. Dr Aswani’s national roles have included being part of the Modernisation Agency and PEC chair lead for the NHS Alliance. He was the Long-Term Conditions clinical lead in North East London and supported the setting up of case management teams in North East London including integrated Health and Social Care teams. Recently Dr Aswani has been involved in supporting primary care transformation and his current roles include being a Specialist GP advisor to the CQC. Dr Aswani was the council representative for the RCGP for 10 years and is now the vice council representative for the North East London Faculty.

He was the Medical Director for the North East London Cluster and led the development of the primary care strategy. He is also an executive committee member of the NHS Alliance. During his 10 years as PEC clinical chair of Waltham Forest PCT and PCG, Dr Aswani has been actively involved in a number of redesign projects between primary and secondary care which has set up some of the first integrated specialist clinics in the community. This has now increased to over 16 areas and continues to expand.
