Whipps Cross Waltham Forest Medical Education and Research Trust (WxWF MERT) supports activities within the catchment area of Whipps Cross University Hospital in London which largely includes Waltham Forest and West of Redbridge.
The Trust focuses on quality improvement and research activities especially between primary and secondary care. It has a multi professional focus and encourages pathway development especially across primary and secondary care, and supports integrated care development with urgent care, frailty and long-term conditions as some of the priority areas.
It is committed to improving outcomes for its local population and it looks forward to working with colleagues in the hospital as well as from primary, community and social care.
Whipps Cross Waltham Forest Medical Education and Research Trust awards grants to Researchers, Principal and sessional GPs, GP registrars, Consultants and junior doctors, as well as additionally providing sponsorship and awards to assist medical professionals to conduct research training and methodology.
Areas that it can provide grants for are:

- High quality postgraduate courses.
Quality and Service improvement is greatly support especially across the hospital and community. It also provides prizes and grants for GP Trainees and junior doctors in training particularly in the area of quality improvement.
