Dr Anwar Khan

Bio

Dr Khan qualified from Westminster Medical School in 1982 and has been a GP since 1991. He works part-time at Churchill Medical Centre in Chingford as a Trainer. He runs assessments in the UK as Clinical Lead for the Induction and Refresher Scheme. He has been a member of the panel of examiners for Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) since 1996, and was the Provost for the North East London RCGP Faculty. He was Clinical Commissioning Group Chair for Waltham Forest from 2013 until July 2019 as well as Chair of North East Commissioning Alliance from 2017-2019. Dr Khan is the Clinical Lead for Medicines Optimisation and Workforce in East London Healthcare Partnership.

He has experience of developing and running a CPD programme in Saudi Arabia, Oman, South Asia, etc. and has carried out formative and summative assessments in Oman, Egypt, Libya and Uzbekistan. He was previously Associate Director and Head of School for GP training in North East and Central London and International Development Advisor (IDA) to Oman (2003 – 2014) and South Asia (2007-2010) overseeing the development of MRCGP (INT).

His particular interests include the consultation, curriculum development and assessment methodologies; he has edited book on Medical Assessment.
